Nate Ruess, lead singer of the multi-platinum, Grammy award winning indie-rock band fun., has been performing since he was a teenager, first as the lead singer of The Format. While touring with The Format, Ruess met Jack Antonoff on tour, who was leading his own band Steel Train at the time.
