View the livestream on YouTube starting at 4:00 PM PT on Wednesday, January 26.

Josh Giegel is the co-founder of Virgin Hyperloop, a company dedicated to making hyperloop transportation a reality.

Giegel founded the company in 2014, when hyperloop was an idea drawn on a whiteboard in a garage. A little over two years later, Virgin Hyperloop built a full-scale prototype, and in November of 2020, Giegel became one of history’s first hyperloop passengers.

Previously, at SpaceX, Giegel developed the world’s first reusable rockets and led the successful testing of six different rocket engines. He then shifted his focus to powering the earth with revolutionary waste heat-to-power energy technology, leading research activities at Echogen Power Systems.

Giegel received a MS in mechanical engineering from Stanford University, where he was a Graduate Engineering Fellow. He holds a BSME from Penn State University, where he graduated with honors and was first in his class.

This appearance by Josh Giegel is part of the Entrepreneurial Thought Leaders series. Join us virtually at youtube.com/ecorner as we bring founders, investors and industry influencers to center stage and invite them to share what it takes to become a disruptor.
