Karabo Morule, Founder, Capital Art

Karabo Morule is the founder of Capital Art, which is an art fintech and the first art collection management service that is focused on collectors of modern and contemporary African art. Morule is also a non-executive director at TymeBank, South Africa’s first bank to have its core banking system in the cloud. She is an actuary by profession and was the second black African woman to qualify as an actuary in South Africa.

Morule’s areas of expertise include art technology and a focus on modern and contemporary African art, financial inclusion, startups and opportunities for creating value-add on the African continent, and responsible investing and leadership.

Morule’s career includes investment banking at J.P. Morgan in Johannesburg and London, as well as 10 years in senior executive roles at a financial services conglomerate, Old Mutual Limited. Since 2012, she has been collecting and investing in art and has been a patron of the arts. She is also an angel investor. In 2018, she was selected to join the World Economic Forum’s Forum of Young Global Leaders. She is an alumnus of the University of Cape Town and Harvard Business School.
