Entrepreneurial Thought Leaders

Jennifer Tejada, CEO, PagerDuty

Not long after landing at PagerDuty in 2016, Jennifer Tejada embarked on that harrowing rite of passage for CEOs of fortunate young startups: the pursuit of an IPO.

The company’s goal was to build and scale a new kind of incident management platform for software developers, one that wouldn’t just monitor technology infrastructure, but also deftly manage real-time alerts and on-call responsibilities, and even proactively recognize and flag emerging opportunities.

To that end, Tejada raised a $90 million Series D round in late 2018, and saw PagerDuty go public on April 11, 2019. (In a recent LinkedIn post, she notes that PagerDuty was the first woman-run enterprise SaaS business to IPO on the New York Stock Exchange in over a decade.)

Prior to joining PagerDuty, Tejada was the CEO of Keynote Systems. And despite her success in the technology ecosystem, her background isn’t in engineering or computer science. She received her BA in business management and organizational behavior at the University of Michigan, then spent 7 years doing marketing for Proctor & Gamble before doubling down on tech with a role as VP of global marketing at Dallas-based i2 Technologies.

This appearance by Jennifer Tejada is part of the Entrepreneurial Thought Leaders series. Join us live as we bring founders, investors and industry influencers to center stage and invite them to share what it takes to become a disruptor.
