RSA was a great example of how not to use patent protection; by preventing anyone else to use their technology, they stabbed themselves in the back. RSA is no longer a major competitor for Voltage and has had to shift its focus to authentication authorization. Consequently, Voltage is trying to be open and embracing of other people that want to use the technology.
