Faced with mass cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hipcamp founder and CEO Alyssa Ravasio was forced to lay off employees. The experience forced her to come to terms with the fact that there’s no way to build a company and have everybody like you. No matter how much emotional intelligence you might have, she observes, as CEO you have to become comfortable with making some people unhappy.
